“Well, she either won or she lost.”
“That’s about as helpful as…ummm, forget it.”
There was knocking on the door. “Mr. Talbot, Mr. Hawes, this is Captain Najarian.”
“Captain, could you please enlighten us on the situation?” Dixon asked.
“May I approach?”
“Of course,” Dixon said.
I arched an eyebrow. “You unarmed?”
“Same as before.”
“Then like, Monty Hall used to say, ‘Come on down!’ ”
