“Heidi threw open the door and squealed. She immediately jumped into Rafe’s arms and wrapped herself around him. “I missed you so much.”
“Me too, beautiful. It feels like it’s been way too long.” He chuckled, and she showered him with kisses all over his face.
“Hold on tight, sweetheart. I’ve got to get my bag.” He draped one arm protectively around her waist while he bent down to retrieve the luggage he’d dropped.
He finally walked inside and kicked the door shut behind them. The new condo had a nice open concept to it. From what he could see, it was quite spacious. There was a large eat-in kitchen with an island in the middle, and beside it was the living room. It had a ton of natural light coming through a few large windows, and he liked the view of the city coming from it; it looked busier than Port Jervis. From where he stood, he could see the stairs leading to what he presumed were the bedrooms.
