“Patches of clouds passed in front of the large disk, casting a patchwork of shadows across the ground. She glanced at the seat beside her, her gaze settling on the smooth leather cover. The intermittent light illuminated the ornate W, making it appear larger than before. She looked away. Now wasn’t the time to let her imagination get the better of her. They only had ten minutes to go before the clock turned over, and the witching hour began.
A shiver ran down her spine. She rarely ran into situ...ations that unnerved her. Not like this. Not when she wasn’t certain she wouldn’t try to kill herself once the witch appeared. Or worse.
