She was trusting them with a lot, but Lewis supposed this was one of those situations where you had to trust people if you wanted to get anywhere. Certainly it would wreck George's career if they blabbed about his occult dealings.
"And that's how we know Pelley," Alma concluded.
    "He's a slimy little coward," George said conversationally.
