“It’s the ranch and horses I love, not the house. And everything pales in comparison to how much I love Cassie. She’s a mountain girl at heart, and I need to get her and her alpacas back up on Iron Horse Peak as soon as possible.”
Ryder chimed in, “I’ve agreed to help Luke build their new house.”
Luke leaned on his forearms, closing the space between the three of them. “It goes without saying, but this discussion remains between the three of us. If Cassie gets wind of it, she’ll put an end to my plans right quick.”
Ryder added, “Cassie’s place was destroyed by a wildfire this summer. While he and I are busy with the build, we may need you to divert Cassie so she won’t suspect anything.”
“Of course. I’ll help any way I can. I enjoy Cassie’s company.” She smiled at Luke, idly scratching Chance behind the ears.
