“They didn’t know exactly what they would do when they reached the fire, but they knew they couldn’t just leave without seeing if they could help. The thought of the entire forest looking like the tree Lacey had climbed was enough motivation to force them to continue on.

“Shoot, I left the pack back at the nest” she said “All I have is the egg.” they continued to dig a line around the fire, and then started kicking dirt on the fire that was spreading across the ground. Ben ran to the lake and was carrying small handfuls back trying to dose out the flames.MoreLess
