“With a confidence she had no idea she possessed she pushed the covers back, swung her legs out of bed and reached for her robe.
“You won’t need that.” Lord Isaac removed it from her hand. “We only have to go a short distance from here and all the servants are in bed. No one will see you.”
“You will.”
He sent her a probing look. “That is rather the point unless, of course, you have had a change of heart.”
“No, I have not changed my mind. But I would be interested to know why we need to leave thi...s room?”
“Because I say we must.” He fixed her with a challenging smile. “You did agree to do everything I asked of you, did you not?”
She wanted to argue. Walking around Lord Torbay’s house, albeit at night when no one would see her, wearing nothing by a diaphanous nightgown and thin shift seemed rather…well, daring. And perhaps just a little exciting. Her pulse raced, her heart did a strange little flip and her breathing became laboured.
