“He has our names and knows our abilities, and it looks like he added Tara’s and Cathy’s names after the fact since they were written in pencil underneath the printed names. You two need to watch each other’s back.”
“10-4.” Brody reached over and hit the Bluetooth button, disconnecting the call. He stayed uncharacteristically quiet on the way to the bar, barely mumbling replies to her q...uestions as he stared out of the passenger window, toward the setting sun, in a daze. He wouldn’t tell her what he and her father had talked about, only that they had come to a mutual understanding and that her father was on to their game.
