“How could that be?” he demanded, hurrying to keep up with her as she turned into a passage he couldn’t see in the darkness.
“In the rebuilding after the fire, streets down here were rearranged,” she said.   “What the hell does that mean?” he blurted out, but she ignored the question with a curt “try to keep up”
