rachlee13 says: Ok. I'm really disappointed by this book. I thought it was going to be much better than it was. The world was interesting and I would definitely enjoy some realms in the real world today. However, character relationships (at least the relationship between Perry and Aria) seemed forced. They finally got along better after she had her period. What is that? Seriously? I might've missed something, but that's what I saw. My biggest issue with couples like these is the author/readers do...n't seem to think that characters can be a couple until they've had sex or something. I can't tell you how many times that's happened in a book I read and it's a serious turn off to me. Kissing is one thing as long as there's enough of a build to it between the characters. I think Aria and Roar would make a much better couple and they only had one conversation when I decided that. Chemistry. Flow. The plot twist at the end was pretty good, though. I definitely didn't see it coming and if you read it neither would you. I really feel like we need a little more explanation on the aether. Why is it there? What was the Unity? I feel like a lot of back story is missing and there needs to be at least some of that. If you save the back story for the rest of the series, I think a lot of people are either going to be confused or bored. compras says: I got to say this book has the Twilight aura. The two characters are so smitten with each other that I think 150 pages out of 376 was devoted to their I-want-you-but-I-must-not-but-I-will affair. And the rest of the dystopian stuff are mere details. The dystopian details are actually interesting. I certainly hope that it be given more attention in the book sequels. I'm rating it a 3 because I am seeing that the "love story" is the glue of this thing which I think should not be with YA dystopians. But that is just me. Anyway, I'll see how this series turns out.MoreLessRead More Read Less
