“No one else in the studio seemed to have noticed, but the way Patrick had just emphasized the word ‘Lucy’ made it very obvious to me what he was up to. He hadn’t forgotten about our little interlude last night. He’d just been biding his time to play more stupid games with me.

I’d been exhausted earlier over lack of sleep, but now I was heady with energy. I felt like running, kicking, punching…but that wasn’t my job. My job was to sit here and wait for Patrick to finish his scenes.
