The tunnels grew older in appearance..., their walls sagging and crumbling, the floor becoming uneven and the black dagger-shapes of stalactites stabbing from the ceiling.
Quirinus led the way with a torch he had left on the far side of the entrance pool, the light throwing huge, vague shadows around the passageways and leaving floods of blackness in side tunnels and corners. There were no more rats, but several times Riven thought he saw quick, flurried movements out of the corner of his eye and he wondered if the Vyrmen were keeping a watch on them yet.MoreLess
