This is one of the best books of the series. IF it ever makes it to the movie screen I hope they pick Joe Lando to play Joe Pike. I wish he had connected with Larkin, it showed us another side of implacable Pike. Robert Crais is a master of the human entity, he brings them to life on a deeper level than the minimal dialogue would suggest. Joe might not say much but he doesn't have to, he comes across loud and clear.
