“After the show, the audience gathered in an adjoining room and Mr. Tatum, looking his usual patrician self, made a short complimentary speech about the performance. Victoria listened with a combination of amusement and disgust, recalling the image of him in the car, penis aroused, demanding sexual favors. At one point, their eyes met and she could see the sudden stab of fear in them as he quickly diverted his attention.
