After much disappointment I had with the previous issues, I finally enjoyed this series again. Though it wasn't as good as beginning issues since a lot of characters I loved were killed, it wasn't so boring and Rick finally shut his trap most of the times. I so hate it when he talks and talk and talk, and I hope he continues to put a lid on it. Carl is still annoying AF, though. I feel horrible because I think I would be a lot happier if Carl was dead.

It's telling that in the six issues collected here, the undead appear in maybe two. And I didn't even notice in the initial reading. Kirkman's world is huge, and the characters are so attention-holding that the series has managed to tone down its central premise to be a background noise, and not damage the quality of the stories at all.MoreLess
