mom says: After much disappointment I had with the previous issues, I finally enjoyed this series again. Though it wasn't as good as beginning issues since a lot of characters I loved were killed, it wasn't so boring and Rick finally shut his trap most of the times. I so hate it when he talks and talk and talk, and I hope he continues to put a lid on it. Carl is still annoying AF, though. I feel horrible because I think I would be a lot happier if Carl was dead. Skyzsunshine says: This volume is a ...step down from the previous in intensity, but makes up for it by introducing Ezekiel and Shiva, as Rick plays submissive to Negan in public, and makes plans. There's lots of character moments and some intense standoffs, but the most chilling issue is Carl's adventure, which has a heavy air of suspense lingering over the entire issue. It's telling that in the six issues collected here, the undead appear in maybe two. And I didn't even notice in the initial reading. Kirkman's world is huge, and the characters are so attention-holding that the series has managed to tone down its central premise to be a background noise, and not damage the quality of the stories at all.MoreLessRead More Read Less
