“Trick said dutifully after she healed the acid burns on his face. She’d already addressed a few other injuries — at least those that the stubborn men would let her close enough to — and was finally finished with cleaning up the aftermath of their mess.

Izzy sat vigilant watch next to Aaron. He still wasn’t back. Everyone said he was right behind them, but he still sat there — unmoving.

Ty nodded, “I’ve pondered the same thing. The only explanation I can come up with is that he’s not ready to be out in the open yet. Somehow, he’s still vulnerable.”
