“I hadn’t seen Kathleen in ages and I was worried by her appearance. Her normally pale face was now white and drawn-looking and she had dark circles under her eyes. I thought she may have been crying recently but maybe I was wrong. Before I could say anything to her, she nodded towards Lily and Kitty. She obviously didn’t want to speak in front of them.
