“The Skylark of Space” is the first book in the Skylark series of Lee Hawkins Garby, written in a co-authorship with Edward Elmer Smith, an American author and engineer. It is one of the earliest novels of interstellar travel, which saw the light of the day in 1928. This story in which humans left the solar system is considered a classic of pulp science fiction. The impetuous plot makes the imagination follow the heroes into outer space in a spaceship and their adventures on unknown, unexplored
...fantastic planets.
Certainly we should not forget that it is a pioneering work, containing some aspects that show its age. Though written in 1915, the book remains fresh and enjoyable for wide readership. The book was followed by “Skylark Three”, “Skylark of Valeron” and “Skylark Duquesne”.
