“He opened the door to the room where he knew his family was sleeping and was shocked to find Jina on the floor curled up around the baby carrier. There was no need for her to sleep there. He moved his still-sleeping daughter out of the way, then lifted Jina up and placed her onto the bed. Covering her up, he looked at her for several long moments. She was still beautiful despite the fatigue that had caused her complexion to turn into the color of bland oatmeal instead of the peaches and cream he remembered from the last time they’d been together.
