“She was wearing a matching yellow flowered silk dress with a smattering of yellow diamonds pinned across her bosom, and her lips bore a fresh coat of bright pink lipstick. She was sitting at a table on the terrace at the Hôtel du Cap, waiting for Bea and Phyl to arrive from the airport. But she wasn’t thinking about her friends.
