Local families, meanwhile, are encouraged to treat them as normally as they can. East Grinstead has become ‘the town that does not stare’.Part of Charles’s treatment has included the ‘walking-stalk skin graft’, a new reconstructive surgical procedure that involves taking skin from one part of the body and grafting it on to another. He has also had belladonna laid over his eyes and endured a complete immersion of his skin in saline solution.MoreLessRead More Read Less
