“Porter was in the house, as the rappers put it, and he was taking over. As Perry and I came running, Porter thundered gaily along the bottom of the seawall toward us, flipping snot in all directions, snorting like a freight train. One of the crewmen made a dive for him and the two did a double roll on the grass. The crewman then splayed himself out flat on his back, defeated, and Porter ran happily on, veering to the west, straight into the men who were trying to catch him.
