    “Don’t beat yourself up, Marilyn.” He crushed her with a bear hug. She spent her remaining tears in his arms.
When she could speak coherently again, she used the phone by the bedside to wake her co-worker and fellow police psychologist, Dale McPherson, from a sound sleep.
