“Oh, for goodness sakes, Cassie! You really think I’m that spiteful and petty?”

I got out and slammed the car door a trifle harder than was necessary. The end of the seat belt caught in the crack, and I could hear the warning signal bleeping insistently behind me as I stalked angrily up the driveway to the house.MoreLess
