He turned to give her a quick once-over. ‘Did they hurt you?’ She shook her head. ‘No, they didn’t have time. I’m fine.’ ‘Are you sure? I can take you to hospital.’ Why was he going on about this? She didn’t want to go to hospital.
‘They didn’t touch me. I’m fine. Just get me away from here.’ She shut her eyes.
Her mind, normally so active and dependable, had s...hut down.
