‘I just wanted to see how you’re doing. I got here safely. I tried calling a couple of days ago but you didn’t answer. I went to see the baby yesterday. The whole thing was weird. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I miss you. I’ll try you again soon.’ After I end the call I sit for a while and stare into space.
