Two Harvard boys, one of them an old chum of Sally’s from back home, were on their way, driving over from Cambridge. Sally had told them she’d find another girl to go along to a party.
Ruth looked out the window. The air was smoky, full of fluffy clumps of snowflakes. She thought about Peter at Harvard, of course. But he would never come over to Northampton on a blind date, she thought.
