"It's not you, it's me" is how I could probably describe my feelings about this book. I read SO many great reviews of this, maybe I did read it with too many expectations as well. I don't know, ultimately, if I enjoyed the originality of the story, I couldn't fully get immersed into it as much as I did with the other Patrick Ness' books I read. Maybe it's the particularity of the speech, the characters I didn't fully connect with, or...I don't know. I'm curious about how it all continues, though

I just finished the book The Knife of Never Letting go by Patrick Ness. It is the first book in the series Chaos Walking. It is about a boy named Todd who is the last "boy" in Prentisstown, a settlement on New World where there are no longer any women. Everybody in Prentisstown has a disease called the Noise. The Noise makes it so that you can hear what everybody is thinking all of the time, including animals. While Todd is wandering in the swamp he finds a hole in the noise. Later he returns to his guardians Cillian and Ben, and they tell him that he needs to pack his bags, and they give him no further explanation. They send him off on a journey across New World, on the way he meets an acquaintance and it is their job to survive and get to the safe Haven. I rated this book a four because I thought that some of the twists were predictable, and it took me a while to get interested in the book.
