It's amazing that we managed to beat the Germans considering they had better weapons, better leadership (for much of the war), and their soldiers were war-hardened by the time we finally entered to help save Britain and beyond. He is capable of presenting the big picture but never neglects the telling detail.I read this 600 plus book while flying extensively for business and this let me wade through the detail in very short order. Hovwever you can also read this over the long haul as Atkinson smartly delineates his story. This volume carries the epic horror of World War II without the romance but demonstrates the energy and effort of military leaders and individual soldiers to end the conflict victorously.MoreLess

Great book, has fantastic cliff hangers that keep you up all night! I reccomend it to anybody who has free time, because you won't want to put it down. I rate it a whopping 10/10!Write Review:
