“What will people say when they find out that I’ve been sitting at the lamp? What if nobody wants to buy glass blown by a woman?” she asked.
They would have to expect a certain amount of hostility of course, Johanna conceded. Ruth’s objections were rather more practical. “If you actually manage to find a wholesaler for Marie’s globes, when is she going to fill his orders?”
