“It had been a hard-working but satisfying month. She’d settled into the cottage, which wasn’t far from the house and, although small, was comfortable, with its own fenced garden. It also gave Liz her own freedom. Although she sometimes accepted Mrs Preston’s invitation to eat up at the house, she more often cooked for herself and Scout. And when Cam was in residence and entertaining she had a place to retreat to.
