The Dragon in the Stone
“His dragon flexed his wings, desperate to burst forth from his skin, to take flight and to shout his joy from the highest cliffs of his land. Not that his land was that big anymore.
Every time he awoke from his stone to return to his castle it seemed to have shrunk more. He could fly far out to the sea, but he couldn’t fly very far inland, let alone approach the coast of the mainland. To do so would take him out of the dimension they were all effectively trapped in.
He frowned at his thought processes, and stretched his magic to the borders of his land. Just as he suspected they were still very much in existence, and he had too much to lose now to attempt to breach them.
Many had tried over the years, he knew that. Had witnessed them crumble into dust time and time again. It was just as well that Lasiandra’s magic was too strong for most humans to endure.
