“Having woken late after another restless night, she’d skipped breakfast in favor of a swim and had then headed to her office to finish up paperwork on patients she’d seen late on Friday afternoon. She’d worked through lunch and by the time she arrived back home, given that she was shortly heading over to her brother’s place for dinner, there hardly seemed any point in eating.
