He shot a look over his shoulder. There they were, about fifty metres away. Two headlights, bobbing across the field. It had stopped snowing and a full moon burst through a break in the clouds, flooding the mountainside with light. Gerald could plainly see the black-clad men urging their machines on, riding them like thoroughbreds towards the finish line.
