Our city is rife with crime, and we are mindful of your safety – it is unwise to strut around loaded down with cash.’ ‘You are the criminals,’ cried the saver, distressed. ‘You steal from those who trust you – I heard the tale in my coffee house this morning, so I want my money and I want it now!’ ‘The tale is a lie,’ replied the clerk superiorly.
