“He wasn’t sure what had caused his sudden change of heart or his urge to accept the way he felt about her. Perhaps it was the constant jealousy of how men looked at her when he knew she was meant to be his. He had tried texting his sister earlier since she was Ava’s current assistant, but his sister wouldn’t give him an inch on anything. Kimberly had told him things were strictly professional between the two and they didn’t discuss him. How could they not talk about him? He was what they had in common, wasn’t he?
Cody popped his head in the door. “We have an issue, sir.”
“What’s going on?” He motioned for Cody to come in.
“We just got a call. It appears Ava’s store was a target again.”
