“I need to go to my apartment,” I said. “I need to get some stuff that belongs to Proctor and I also need to talk to Mike.” I mumbled the last part and Walker raised his eyebr...ows.
“Okay,” he said, his eyebrows still raised.
“Okay,” I said. I was suddenly completely and utterly exhausted. “I need to go see Richie, too.”
“Okay.” He paused for a beat. “Want to have lunch first?” He smiled at me, a lopsided, exhausted smile, and I smiled back.
