“The direct approach would have been much better.” On Superior Island, Cobie waited next to Adam, hidden behind trees as he peered through binoculars at the Voyager anchored in the waters of Chambers Passage. She wondered if Deep Water Marine Salvage would have to give up their efforts in the coming winter months. Maybe the vessel was capable of weathering the rough waters.
Adam didn’t respond, just kept looking.
She tugged on his jacket. “Did you hear me?”
“Yep. And we’ll take the direct approach after I get a look at what we’re walking into. The lay of the land—or rather the boat.”
Since they’d been invited to the salvage vessel, Cobie wasn’t comfortable with Adam’s cloak-and-dagger methods. They’d taken the Warren family boat, and Adam had opted to anchor a couple of miles down on the opposite side of the island, away from the channel where the Voyager was anchored.
