“She made sure that everyone knew it. She wasn't what I had hoped for either. I was really disappointed in her too. She wasn't like she had been in the beginning. I constantly had to watch her and teach her. She didn’t care to learn. When I explained things or showed her how to do something she wouldn’t look at me. I got a feeling that she thought that she didn't need to learn because she would be leaving soon anyway. I was even afraid to sleep at night. What would I do if I woke up one morning ...and she was gone? I made her follow me around, which meant that she was always there, standing right behind me with a frown on her face. She often made comments about her being a free person. She wanted to take off. How could I protect her from herself if she weren't by my side? The way we met said it all. Without me she wouldn't last long. She was my responsibility and I loved her. I didn't want her to leave. Still, she made me as mad as a hornet. I tried to punish her and show her that I wouldn't tolerant her pouting, but I had to do it so often.MoreLessRead More Read Less
