I’d never been, so I was propped up on one of the divans in the back researching the place for an article I was hoping to write. As a freelance journalist, I hoped there was something new I’d be able to discover, even though so much had already been written about “the city of lights” or “Sin City.” If I couldn’t learn anything new about the place, I was sure to find some interesting people to write about.     While I was lounging with my laptop in the back of the plane, Luke was on his laptop in the front of the plane. He was chatting with a colleague—the one we were going to see—and the guy was sharing his screen with Luke. I imagine he wanted Luke to be thinking about a solution to whatever problem we were going out to investigate. Luke hadn’t said much about it yet. I knew he would, but the trip came up so suddenly that he hadn’t had time.     As I scrolled through links provided by my search engine, I was notified that Luke was calling my computer.
