“I could feel it in my blood. Despite life's hurdle, I had to jump to get to the top. I was determined that, no matter what my name was; I would be second to no man, not even my father. I sighed at the sound of my mother crying. I could hear her three doors down. It wasn’t that she was loud; it was just that my mom did it so often lately that I could feel it in my soul.
