NadiaChilliXX says: This really wasn't an Honor Harrington book as it was marketed. This was really a Saganami series book. This main story arc has been spinning its wheels for two books. This one tells the story from a different perspective. I really hope the next book moves the story forward and get Honor as the main character. This book series is now starting to feel dragged out and it seems a bit lost since At All Costs. I really love the older novels so I hope David Weber can find this serie...s' groove again. angelina says: Some space opera made a refreshing change from my usual diet of fantasy. This book, while in the Honorverse, features more side characters such as Honor's friend Michelle (Admiral Gold Peak) and some ensigns we met in Shadow of Saganami, Helen Zilwicki and a Grayson girl, Abigail Hearns. It is definitely NOT a stand-alone.The book had the usual Weber strengths: high stakes, intense battle scenes, complex politics and the satisfaction of winning against some pretty vile villains. (I'd also like to say how much I appreciate the fact that in Weber's future the military is 50/50 male and female, not just with a few 'token' strong females scattered around) It also had the usual Weber drawbacks: tons of staff meetings, secondary characters I didn't care about and lots of tech jargon.MoreLessRead More Read Less
