Charna had caught a scent and dashed off east towards a thick patch of brush. They crept towards the bushes, mindful of any patrols that might be about. But the area around was wild and desolate and Talis doubted soldiers would bother defending around here. Considering all the wards and rats in the tunnel, most likely any soldiers would assume this part of the wall was impenetrable. They hiked across the chaparral, then climbed over boulders and trekked up the high steppes leading towards the stormy mountains.MoreLess
