Maggie wrinkled her brow. “Is he getting paid for this upk...eep?” Maggie couldn’t recall whether or not the city controlled the Burrows property. Since time stood still at the home, it shouldn’t surprise her if Burrows or his attorney had since established a stewardship.
“I’m not sure. I’d assume yes. Although why anyone would bother is beyond me. I mean, does Burrows actually plan on returning home?” She snorted. “The guy is getting the chair. Did you see inside Burrows’s house yet?”
