Seeing Forever
“This was a first. But then he’d never been with a woman quite like Katey. Her hair tickled his chest as she laid her head upon it. He stroked where it curled slightly toward the ends. He guessed it was beautiful and shiny. If only he could see her. Shit, he was almost considering the operation the doctor had told him about. Not that he’d ever get all his sight back, but maybe he’d see a little of what Katey looked like.
Almost considering.
The doctor had told him of the risks that perhaps things wouldn’t go well and he’d be back in the dark again. And he’d hated hospitals ever since his mom had died in one and he’d remembered the smell and all the distinct noises of machines beeping. He’d never forget that tone.
Katey shifted her body and put her leg over his. He placed his hand on her thigh. Smooth, and probably not one blemish.
“What are you thinking?”
Her voice startled him.
“Nothing.”
“That’s impossible.”
“Just how nice this is, to be close to you, holding you.”
