Men armed with muskets lined the sides to deter the big predators, while others jumped into the ship’s boats towing behind. The survivors were brought aboard Badger and the brig was left to soon begin its descent into the depths. With the big frigate sailing away, Phillips now felt free to see what needed to be done with the Company ships.
