Lamour makes many chronological mistakes. All the fathers of you 16-18 year old girls seem to be old men. Just about Dorian Chantry, the "nephew" of 86 tear old Mr. Chantry seems to be not more than about 25 at most, likely 4-5 years younger.

Perhaps a grand-nephew or even great-grandnephew, but most certainly NOT a mephew.
