He ratcheted up another score in his tally when she flushed, not only at his words, but at his harsh, and deliberately sarcastic, tone of voice. He could see from her shocked expression that she was astonished by him turning up, here of all places.
Hardening himself to any feelings he may have had in the past for her he moved to perch on Sean’s desk and continued. “The question, my dear, is more why you are in this place—my sweet little Annie, so innocent, so pure.”MoreLess
