With regard to authorship George Ticknor writes: "Faxardo's claim to its authorship has been questioned; but the dedication [by Saavedra Fajardo] in Rivadeneyra's Biblioteca, Tom. xxv, p. 389 ... ought, I think, to remove all doubt.
