“The wedding preparation was in high gear and my bridal jitters were in full effect. Mona and Charmaine, the true friends that they were, made fun of me every chance they got. They looked forward to the wedding and reception at Catalina. Money was going to be in the air that day, and landing an available, financially stable suitor was a possibility for both of them.
I mailed invitations to my people back in Virginia, but I doubted they would show up, especially with the short notice. I didn’t keep up with them once my grandmother passed away.
